“Schizophilia” is a made-up word combining the latin term “schizo” and suffix “-philia”. In my mind, this translates roughly to, “fondness for (or tendency toward) division.” I chose this URL for two reasons:
1. The conversations I find most interesting are those that, unfortunately, involve strong emotions and deeply-held beliefs. Politics and religion (and sex, apparently, based on the subtitle I wrote) never fail to disappoint in this regard. This domain name captures the spirit of what I plan to do here — specifically to spit out my own opinions, and maybe discuss those of visitors who do or do not agree.
2. I like URLs that are difficult to spell.
So if someone is actually reading this page, thank you for visiting, and feel free to contribute. I hope you’ll take any opinions you see here in the spirit in which they were intended. If you are offended by something I have written, please take a moment to consider a viewpoint different from your own. If you disagree, feel free to say so in a civil manner in the “comments” section of each post. If you are angry with me, and cannot be civil, remember that you can leave at any time.
